Your current patterns might be “relics of the past.”
The patterns you find yourself stuck in are likely relics of the past. What do I mean by that?
I mean that the ways you navigate the world today—the ways you respond to stress, connect (or struggle to connect) with others, manage emotions, and even see yourself—are often shaped by strategies you developed long ago.
These strategies weren’t chosen consciously; rather, they were adaptations your younger self made to feel safe, accepted, and capable of surviving in whatever environment you grew up in.
And here’s the thing: Those strategies were designed by a child’s brain. A brain that didn’t yet have the ability to process complex emotions, challenge beliefs, or consider long-term wellbeing. Many of these patterns weren’t built with “thriving” in mind—they were built to get you through.
So now, as an adult, you might find yourself frustrated or confused about why certain behaviors or thought patterns seem so deeply ingrained.
Why do I still struggle with self-doubt, overwork myself to exhaustion, or shrink away from vulnerability?
Why does it feel so hard to trust, to set boundaries, or to quiet that inner critic?
This is where, I believe, coping skills often fall short.
Don’t get me wrong—coping skills are important. Learning grounding techniques, mindfulness practices, and ways to manage stress can be incredibly helpful.
But if therapy focuses only on surface-level skills, it misses the deeper layers—the patterns and experiences that shaped you in the first place.
That’s why my approach goes deeper. I’ll share practical tools when they’re useful, but more importantly, we’ll work together to uncover the root of your struggles. Instead of just managing symptoms, we’ll explore the experiences, beliefs, and emotions that keep old patterns alive.
Healing isn’t just about learning new strategies—it’s about transforming your relationship with yourself so that you no longer have to rely on outdated patterns to feel safe. It’s about creating a foundation that allows you to move through life with more ease, self-trust, and authenticity.
And that’s the work we’ll do together.
