How expectations about progress may hinder the process.

In our fast-paced world, it's easy to fall into the trap of wanting quick results, especially when it comes to our mental health. We can easily ask ourselves, “when will I feel better?” or “why isn’t this working faster?”

While these questions are understandable, they may create a sense of impatience that ultimately hinders our healing process.

What I mean by this is that if we become overly fixated on our end goal—getting better—we may overlook the valuable experiences and learning that occur along the way. Healing is not merely about reaching a destination - it’s about the process we take toward it.

The process is just as important as the progress.

The truth is, the healing process can be uncomfortable. It often requires us to confront difficult emotions and past experiences. However, these moments of discomfort are integral to our transformation. They can provide insights into our behaviors, help us cultivate resilience, and ultimately lead us to a more profound sense of self-awareness.

Next time you feel the urge to rush through your healing journey, pause and remind yourself: there’s no rush. Allow yourself to experience the process fully. Give yourself permission to sit with your emotions, reflect on your thoughts, and appreciate the small victories along the way.

If you're ready to explore your own path towards healing, I want you to know that you don’t have to do it alone.
